Sporty fun and more

Earlier I posted about the closing up of Fall. But I didn't get most of Sam's stuff on here, and a few other things as well. So here is the country wide "football" tournament. It was two full days, he even got to miss school. (Here's what you would hear here: Where's Sam's kit? Is he in his trainers or football boots? Translation: Where is Sam's uniform? Is he in his tennis shoes or is soccer cleats? Yes. I'm learning a lot.)
They didn't win one game. But we are if not THE, close to, the smallest school participating.

Loved their tents. Do your kids have their tournament tents set up with carpets on the floor? We're very chic over here. Or Shaik. I'm not sure.

Here is his motley crew of a team. I think there is one other kid from the states - and of course his math teacher/coach from Bellingham, WA. WHO, btw, was at Central Washington when I was. VERY small world. Living over here, it seems to get smaller all the time.

Gid gettin' ready for his turn.

Sam played the piano in sacrament meeting one day in December. All three versus and didn't miss a beat. It took me til I was 37 to be able to have people sing along. I was very impressed that at 11 he did so well.

Check out those curved fingers, Sister Mano!

Sam and Si had their piano recital in December as well. Via Skype. This is what they looked like here.

This is what the rest of the students looked like in Orem. It was actually really fun to participate. A big thanks to our teacher who included the boys and made it possible.

And last, but not least, Simon's last baseball game we played kids vs. parents. Peter snapped this beauty of me up to bat. This is more like proof for my posterity. I actually hit the ball and scored a run. (point?basket?goal? eh, who cares...) It was really fun. Don't worry. Soccer leagues, not just school soccer, start next week. So there will be more fun, ASAP. Never a dull moment here. At this point we've got six practices a week, three games, Peter coaching, Ruby with ballet two nights a week, girls scouts and Si cub scouts, piano lessons and more. Whew. I'm pooped just writing it.

Do you really say "kit, trainers and football boots"? That's better than "bits and bobs". Soon you'll be having tea every afternoon.
