Beach Babies

Sometimes people go to the beach for Spring Break. We went a lot.

The weather has been so nice for our break, which means a lot of outdoor time. Swimming at the pool, walks at the beach, swimming and splash pad at the beach and the park every day. Some days when Peter came home for lunch, we would head to the beach for a picnic. (that's just a 3 or 4 minute walk, btw) And in the afternoons, after Giddie's nap, we also like to go.

Roo wants to know- WHO needs snow? She can make a sand angel just as easily.

All the kids wanted to be buried in the sand on this particular day. Everyone but Gid, anyway. We only had the iphone handy. I don't really like to take camera's to the beach if I can help it. You know- sand + camera = disaster in my book. But luckily, Peter had his.

Needless to say, no action shot of them jumping out - but they sure were cute.

Look at the big boys covered in sand. They were wet before they got covered, and then looked like snicker doodles. Sam's friend Shaan was at the beach with us. He comes from a very nice, quiet, Hindi family. I'm pretty sure he thinks we are totally nuts! There was a whole lot of laughing, screaming and jumping around during this whole thing. Shaan kept his distance, needless to say.

I did have a little pool question for all of you. Let's say your at the pool swimming laps and there is an Englishman in the lane with you. You know how swim lanes work, up one side, down the other. Right? The man is ENGLISH, I repeat. They drive on the wrong side of the road, and guess what - they swim on the wrong side of the lane, too! I had to move out of his way every time we crossed paths. Crazy Brits!

What's a girl to do...

I tried swimming on the wrong side, but it felt totally weird. So what did I do?

I got out.

Then I yelled at him, "Hey, mind the gap, you Limie!"

No. I didn't. But that would have been funny, huh?

Or you could have said "Get your bits and bobs out of my lane!"

Poor Shaan looks a little traumatized even in the pictures, but I can tell your kids are having fun. It's nice that the beach doesn't get old!
