Will I be ready then...

During the month of December, Primary focused on the The Savior.

The prophecies of Him, His birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, and His coming again.

We had many wonderful lessons, discussions and questions.

His coming again always stirs up A LOT of questions for children. And okay, for me too. I do wonder when He will come. Will I be ready then? What will the earth be like...you know.

Sometimes we can't get past the "destruction" that the scriptures tell us about. This time, it is Ruby that can't get past the fear of what this wonderful, yet scary time might bring.

So she wrote Jesus a letter. The way she writes letters - with a drawing.

This is the Savior coming to earth, as you can see. She wanted to make it for Him, so she 'can give it so Him when he comes'. So, you see, now she's ready.

She brought me the picture, I put it on the fridge, and I heard a squeal from the other room. A squeal as only Ruby can, all girl:

"Oh no, Mommy! I forgot! I forgot to put my nickname on my picture for Jesus. So he'll know what my nickname is!" (please read this in you best 'I-love-anything-pink-furry kitties-plastic high heels-a purse on my arm-messy face and hair-do you want to dance with me?' voice.

And now. She is ready. And her nickname, Roo, is written in purple crayon so Jesus will know what her nickname is. I hope I will be that ready and confident when the day arrives.

Happy sabbath.

(I know. It's not your sabbath. But it's mine.)

That is super cute! I see she's an enthusiastic writer of the letters in her name! I'm glad she's ready. I'm going to follow her example and get right to work on my picture. :-)
