Here is one of the main reason I started blogging. This is one of my very treasured items from my childhood. It's a note my mother left to the baby sitter while she was out of town. I was six weeks old, and she was gone for a week.
Over the years, I have loved reading it. Over and over. It has given me a little insight into what life as like in my life, and the life of my family, back then.
This is the only written record I am aware of, that my mother kept. I don' t think she has journals, or any other record. I can almost see the busy house of five little kids when I read this. I have cherished this small piece so much, that I wanted to leave an everyday record for my kids.
Thanks for humoring me and reading my blog. You give me an audience to write to, someone to talk to. To tell stories to. Someday, this audience will be my children. And they will have some idea of their home and life as young children. And, hopefully, they will cherish this and find happiness in these memories.

Ummm, I resent that the baby sitter had to be warned TWICE to keep the crabby baby away from me!! How rude...I was just trying to shut the thing up...I mean sheees...All it did was cry and eat all the time!!
I love thinking of you as a newborn for whom the evening was "fussy time". I also love that she wanted all the nipples sterilized. I have never, ever done that. Unless of course you count rinsing them off in tap water.
