Little Bit 'o Freedom

When Stacey comes to town, I get to live two lives. Just for a while. You'll get to read all about Stace on her birthday blog, coming up in May. She's one of my very best friends, who lives far away. Like many of my dear friends.

She, of course, has many family obligations when she's in town. So our time together, between our kids and other commitments, is spent late at night.

Sunday evening: Pawn the kids off on the TV (and Peter), take a drive gawking at our favorite local celeb homesteads. (These may or may not be Nie's place of residence and the like.) Convo's without kids, listening to fun music, and feeling a bit of freedom is a break for any mother of young kids.

Tuesday: Late night movie. A girl movie of course, Confessions of a Shop-a-holic. We were the only people in the theatre. We talked and commented out loud the whole time, and lounged all over the 'furniture.' And, of course, stayed up talking 'til 2 am.

Wednesday: Tanning. Sounds funny, I know. But I paid for a ton of tans last year and haven't used them, why not share? And because we only get to spend a couple of hours acting like we're 18 - we went tanning. Perused through Target until they literally dimmed the lights and closed. Rude. Got giant diet cherry lime aides, and talked 'til only 1:30.

Yes, I'm very tired. But ya gotta take advantage of best friend time when you can.

I hope you all get to spend time with friends you love now and then. It's refreshing, and doesn't happen nearly enough.

Oh, thank you is all I can say! I may be catching up on sleep for the next month, but it was worth it, I love it!
