It took us a couple of times to get to the Louvre. Between their schedule and ours, we went twice. Here we are before our actually entry eating our moring pan de chocolate. We were shooed from these seats promptly, as they are seating for a sidewalk cafe. Us and about 10 other people.
I used to hate the glass pyramid, thinking that it totally ruined the beauty of this place. But I realize now it's part of the museum, not part of the palace. And I kind of see it as an icon now.
The building itself is my favorite part of the Louvre. The time period of paintings here are not my favorite. In fact, much of it I consider pretty boring. But it is the most famous museum in the world, and so that's where you take your kids. Snoozer or not!
Roo and Mona.
You may have heard how much Chach loved the Louvre. Okay. Not really. He didn't do well here. This is picure of him on the floor of the Louvre, not even having a fit. Just making snow angels. He was SO bored.

This was in the Mona Lisa room. I think more people stopped to look at him and take pictures, than they did of Mona.
Samuel on the other hand, was not. He only had one terrible day of his pre-teen/ness. And it was at the Louvre. (and he even apologized later) He was a total snot at the museum. Here I captured one of his many giant 'huffs' and stomping aways. I think I said something like this to him, "People dream of coming here their whole lives. Now SHAPE UP! You're ruining it for everyone!!" Yeah. I'm a good mom like that.
"Who wants to see a stupid statue without a head, anyway!" Quoted by Samuel Tennis. I think it was in regards to Venus deMilo. But he didn't love my Winged Victory either. There are a few pieces I totally love here, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the world does too. They are this statue, Venus, Mona and a few other paintings along the way. Granted, I've been here three times and only seen a tiny fraction of the place. I'm sure there's more to it.
Simon spent most of his time like this. He had a wonderful time and LOVED the Egyptian section of the Louvre. It is quite amazing. For the first hour. That place is HUGE. Doesn't help that we got lost/trapped in that section. I think we passed a certian dead mummy nine times. Yeah. I was sweating. Up and down stairs, back and forth. Not a lot of exits at the Louvre it turns out.My favorite part of the Louve is just being in the building. What grand time and place.

How funny that you loved the Egyptian section, but no pictures from there! Chach is too funny.
It's Loo-vruh. Not loo-vray. I'm just saying. :)
