Simon continues to crack me up. He is in second grade, and his vocabulary amazes me. Here's just a small sample of conversations today:
I said, "Sometimes when kids are together with lots of other kids, they try to show off for each other." He says, "Yes. They try to impress each other."
I said, "So you're hungry?" He says, "Literally starving."
I said, "What did you say when he asked if you wanted to see that toy." He says, "Nothing. He was going to show me anyway. It was a rhetorical question."
I think all of his reading is starting to pay off, both in vocab and understanding.
